The winter months are back
We are right in the middle of those cold winter months again. That means putting on a coat, wrapping a scarf around your neck, and not going outside unless you absolutely have to. Although? Many people enjoy going for a nice long walk, particularly when it's cold outside. In the woods, or getting some sea air at the beach. Breathing in that fresh scent, the wind in your face (and if you're unlucky it might rain, so plan that walk well). A perfect way to start the new year.
Layers
Are a thick coat and a warm scarf enough? To ask the question is to answer the question. As you know, it's all about layers. The more layers you put on, the warmer you will be. Putting on several layers on top of each other works much better against the cold than one thick jumper or one warm coat. Why? There are different theories about this, but probably because there is air between the layers, which is heated by your body and stays warm.
The perfect first layer
The first layer is what it's all about. That is the layer that makes the difference, the layer that sits directly on your skin. If it is made of the right material, the right fabric, it makes all the difference in the world. And what layer can match Mellowood®? Exactly. Nothing (in our opinion, and of course we are slightly biased). Because Mellowood® insulates in exactly the right way, because it breathes. If that first layer is closed, the natural moisture cannot escape. Then you will be warm, but also sticky. Just wrap a plastic bag around your arm and before you know it it will be damp.
