Sneaker socks actually came into existence because, simply put, regular or dressy socks don't look very flattering with sneakers. Sneakers are low shoes that are preferably (though not exclusively) worn under shorts and Bermudas. Because let's be honest, once the first few rays of the season make an appearance, out come the shorts. But what to wear underneath? Not your dressy loafers or the lace-up shoes that you normally wear with long trousers. That would look, to put it politely, a little uninspired?

Low socks for your sneakers

Slightly sportier shoes are a better option, so people tend to opt for sneakers. But should you wear regular socks with that? They are often a tad too long, often mid-calf, and that would simply look wrong. Of course you can choose not to wear socks at all, but most men (and women) don't like that idea. Bare feet in shoes get sweaty, accompanied by an unpleasant smell. Not nice.
