The world has gained a new fabric, which is incredibly sustainable and offers the perfect basis for clothing and underwear: TENCEL™. And because Undiemeister®, as you know and can see on this website, is specialised in underwear, we are happy to take you into the world of TENCEL™ clothing and TENCEL™ underwear in particular.

What is Tencel clothing?

TENCEL™ clothing is almost entirely made of TENCEL™. So the next question: what is TENCEL™? TENCEL™ was developed by the Austrian company Lenzing™, a manufacturer that has been around for decades. Lenzing™ is by far a leader in the production of fibres for the textile industry, which are produced sustainably. The great thing is that Lenzing™ has won many awards in the field of sustainability and is completely transparent about its production. And we use the Lenzing™ fabric for our TENCEL™ underwear.

TENCEL™ cellulose

TENCEL™ is a fibre, produced from cellulose, just like bamboo fabric is also based on cellulose fibres. TENCEL's cellulose comes from beech or eucalyptus trees, all of which are sustainably managed. But why is TENCEL so suitable for underwear, why is TENCEL™ increasingly used for clothing, including and perhaps especially, TENCEL™ underwear?

The perfect properties of TENCEL™ underwear

TENCEL™ underwear is wonderfully soft. The fabric is therefore extremely suitable for underwear, but that's not the only reason. TENCEL™ is extremely ventilating, absorbs and removes moisture quickly and is hypoallergenic. But are there any disadvantages to TENCEL™ clothing? Yes, there are. Do you love bamboo underwear? Then Mellowood®️ is definitely for you!

Mellowood®️, the perfect combination between TENCEL™ and organic cotton

TENCEL™ is a very soft fabric, but therefore also quite fragile. In addition, TENCEL™ is a bit shiny, and we don't think that's so great for men's underwear. That is why the TENCEL™ clothing from Undiemeister®️ is combined with cotton, organic cotton at that. This combination makes our TENCEL™ underwear perfect. We have retained the soft touch and feel of TENCEL™, in addition to all other very positive properties. And because of the addition of (organic) cotton, Mellowood®️ fabric is extra sturdy, without the shiny effect that you often see with TENCEL™ underwear. Because we don't think that's very masculine. At least, we don't know many men who like to wear slightly shiny boxer shorts.

Mellowood®️ offers the optimal TENCEL™ underwear

Because Mellowood®️ fabric does not consist mainly of TENCEL, which can be up to 95% with many other brands, but is mixed with organic cotton, you shouldn’t really call our underwear TENCEL underwear, or TENCEL clothing. We don't. Undiemeister®️ underwear is Mellowood®️ underwear, and we have an exclusive licence. There is no better fabric for underwear.
