What does durable mean when it comes to socks?

In short, the term “durable socks” are socks that are produced sustainably, with the right materials. And at Undiemeister durability is also part of our sustainable promise, durable socks that last for a long time. Better for the environment.

Durable socks that do not break easily

Socks are perhaps the garments that endure the most wear. And that is not surprising if you compare the use of socks with a T-shirt, for example. It sits on your body and occasionally the fabric chafes a little when you use your arms, but that's about it. This is very different with socks, but that also largely depends on the use of the socks. People who almost always keep their shoes on, even indoors, preserve their socks a lot longer. The same goes for people who regularly change their socks.

Do you walk around in your socks a lot?

If you walk around in your socks a lot, your socks wear out much quicker. It is tempting to immediately conclude that your socks are apparently not durable socks, but that's putting it too simply. Your socks scrape the floor with every step. And if your floor is a little rough, your durable socks won't last that long at all. And that especially applies to your favourite socks, which you wear all the time. Such a pain to see they'll wear out sooner, but even durable socks are not made of concrete either. We therefore always recommend having at least 7 pairs of your favourite socks at home, so that you can change your socks every day and they don't wear out too quickly.

Our durable socks are made sustainably

Durability can be an important element of sustainability. If this is important to you, and we hope it is, you will choose your socks based on the fabric used and the production process. For example, is the fabric composed of mainly sustainably grown and processed components? Subsequently, was it produced sustainably? When it comes to sustainability, measures to reduce water and CO2 consumption should be considered as much as possible
