The fact that Undiemeister® underwear is made of Mellowood® can't have escaped you. So, is our underwear Undiemeister® underwear or Mellowood® underwear? Both, because Mellowood® underwear is exclusively made for Undiemeister®. This means that Mellowood® fabric is exclusively available for Undiemeister® underwear. We have the exclusive licence for this fabric in the Netherlands. The name Mellowood® is registered worldwide and patent pending. But that does not make Mellowood® underwear Undiemeister® underwear, however it does mean that the underwear is made of Mellowood®. More is needed to produce Undiemeister® underwear, which we will talk about below. Let's talk about Mellowood® first because with this superior fabric we knew that a breakthrough had been achieved, which the world was eagerly awaiting.

Why was the world waiting for Mellowood underwear?

We know, it sounds a little melodramatic. Because why is the world waiting for Mellowood® underwear? The main reason is the maximum sustainable way in which Mellowood® underwear is produced. Undergarments, or underwear if you prefer, are an important part of the textile industry. After all, underwear is worn every day by almost everyone. The textile industry is the world's second-largest polluter, especially in terms of CO2 emissions. As you undoubtedly know, that is where the greatest challenge lies for us all. Thanks to the optimally sustainable production of Mellowood®, Undiemeister® underwear therefore contributes to CO2 reduction, with every pair of boxer shorts and every T-shirt we sell. Mellowood® consists of 68% TENCEL(tm), 28% Organic cotton and 4% Elastane.

And there is more to tell about Mellowood®

Yes, there is a lot more. You don't just wear underwear on a daily basis, it also sits directly on your skin. Undergarments should therefore be the most comfortable of all clothing. That is exactly what Undiemeister® underwear is designed for. Mellowood® fabric is extremely soft, not too thick, provides excellent ventilation, with a rapid absorption and wicking of moisture (perspiration). In addition, Mellowood® is anti-allergic, hardly shrinks, no-pill and colourfast.

Now we're going to talk about Undiemeister® underwear

The fabric is indeed the foundation, but Undiemeister® doesn't stop there. Because it takes more than Mellowood® to create Undiemeister® underwear. For example, if the sizing isn’t right or the finish is not ideal, your Undiemeister® undergarments will stay in your drawer. And that is exactly what we don't want. So we have added even more to the superior Mellowood® fabric to really give our underwear the Undiemeister® signature. In other words: we have made Undiemeister® underwear of Mellowood® underwear. We achieved this by hiring specialists who completely redesigned the Undiemeister® underwear from scratch. What is good about the underwear that is currently for sale, we leave as is. What needs improving, we improve. And what do we ourselves prefer when it comes to underwear? For example, Undiemeister® underwear has been optimised step by step, both in size and finish.

No loud colours, but discreet and understated. Classy and civilised

We did not want Undiemeister® underwear to be garish, with large logos, for example. Or bright colours. Or boxer shorts with all kinds of busy prints. Or a different colour waistband than the rest of the boxer shorts. Or stitching “all over the place”. You can see that in our designs. The construction of our boxer shorts prevents the use of too much stitching. Admittedly, this is trickier, but we did not let that deter us. And our colours are a totally different story.

The unique natural colours of Undiemeister® underwear

Nature offers the most beautiful colours, more beautiful than any man can create. Thousands of shades of one colour, so which one do you choose? That was quite a job, because the colours of Undiemeister® undergarments had to meet our criteria: not too bright, not too garish, etc. For blue, we were inspired by dark stormy skies, with shades ranging from grey to deep blue. This is how the colour “Storm Cloud” was created, which you will find in our boxer shorts. Or what about “Vulcano Ash” (black), “Lava Rock” (grey), “Misty Forest” (green) or “Reef Clay” (red).
