Undiemeister's stock challenges are thankfully resolved!

The tremendous success combined with the pesky COVID-19 virus is creating major inventory challenges at Undiemeister. Ultimately, of course, they are luxury problems but unfortunately this comes at the expense of our customer experience. In this article we tell you more about this.

Holland is kind of done with the virus by now....

Everyone has his or her own challenges during this period when the virus is haunting the Netherlands. No one can escape the government measures to prevent further spread. In addition, there is so much talk about the virus, among themselves and in the media, that most people are a bit done with it by now.

The virus measures are different for everyone

All Dutch people are affected by the virus in one way or another. For business, the measures mean that almost everyone works from home; for many this is a challenge and colleagues on the shop floor are sorely missed. For others, the task of teaching children and then combining that with working online is added to the mix.

Many spend all day behind their computer or phone and are happy to get out, for example to go to the supermarket, take a walk or stretch their legs. Then there are the entrepreneurs who have been forced to close their restaurants for a long time and are struggling to keep their heads above water. That has been joined for some time by non-essential stores and businesses such as barber stores, etc. And then also came the curfew.

Online runs fast

As you may know, Undiemeister's items are sold exclusively online. This means that we do not suffer from a forced store closure. On the contrary, many people know how to find us in these times. Of course, we are extremely happy about this, although it is sometimes a double feeling when we read or hear the stories of others. Still, even that is not without its challenges, only that our challenges lie in a completely different area such as stock, for example.

The virus measures and Undiemeister

Undiemeister have been experiencing delays in delivery times and deliveries to us for some time, which thankfully have now been resolved. In fact, our items are catching on so incredibly well that it has been quite a challenge to keep up with the demand for Undiemeister's boxer shorts, T-shirts and socks. That meant we had to take quick action to increase production capacity to replenish our stock in a timely manner.

Fortunately, we did that early on, but that didn't solve everything. Because when our boxer shorts, T-shirts and socks were finally produced in the right numbers again, shipments were canceled just like that. Ours too, without prior notice.

Then long traffic jams at the borders and Schiphol

Carriers then had to wait in long traffic jams until they could load and unload. This often took so long that many returned home without our stock, only to try again the next day. And for some, this went on for days at a time. All because, on the one hand, the transportation companies scaled down their staffs, and on the other hand, an even greater demand for transportation of products was created. And of course, perishable goods and medicines then take priority. We fully understand that, but our frustration was no less.

The patience of our customers...

... was put to the test. Because go figure, you've already paid and yet you haven't received anything. While Undiemeister is known for always delivering the next day, without exception! So could something be going on? Besides, everyone wants to know what is so special about our men's underwear. We understand that. Fortunately, most of our customers also understand that as a company you sometimes have to "deal" with situations that you can't do much about and they trust us to do everything we can. And we do.

Stock challenges solved

One learns by doing, and that attitude is especially necessary at a time when no one can predict the future (if at all). Together with our partners, we have therefore created additional buffers in our inventory. That way we can continue to deliver no matter what happens. Shipments to our customers are now back to business as usual: ordered today is prepared for shipment today and on its way to you the next day.
