Washing at 30 degrees is more than sufficient for the Mellowood fabric. It is still often mistakenly thought that washing at high temperatures is better for the end result. This is not true because washing at higher temperatures can damage the product or affect the fibers. We have had our products tested through different washing methods and the best washing instructions are explained below. Mellowood is by nature a silky soft material, the use of a fabric softener is therefore not necessary. Please read the washing instructions for our products below.
Washing instructions
Bleaching agents
Never use chlorine or bleach when washing our products. Chlorine and/or bleaches are very bad for the textile fibers and can greatly affect the durability of the products. Moreover, it's very bad for the environment.
Ironing
The Mellowood fabric is iron-free, ironing is therefore a thing of the past with Undiemeister undergarments.
Drying
We recommend never putting Undiemeister underwear in the dryer after washing. The dryer can damage the product, shortening its lifespan. Drying on the clothesline is sufficient and saves energy. Do you still want to put it in the dryer? Then use a low temperature.
Shrinkage
The shrinkage of Undiemeister is similar to that of cotton undergarments. With proper washing instructions (30 degrees), it hardly shrinks at all. When in doubt, you can use a spin setting of up to 600 rpm.
