Undiemeister's certificates

As you know, sustainability is a high priority at Undiemeister. Yet we do not display the logos applicable to our items in our articles or on our packaging. What exactly is this about?

Everything made by hand and custom-made

All items from Undiemeister are made to our specifications. We determine the design and the fabric to be used. So those fabrics are not made by us but by third parties. Then from the fabric in the workshop our articles are assembled. So the point is that our suppliers in particular are certified for sustainability and working conditions. This even goes a step further, because every delivery to us is individually checked (examination and analysis of the materials used) and certified.

Our certificates

The certification already happens at the yarns. For example, our fabric supplier receives a license number per order from LENZING™ that we, as the client, must use each time to apply for our own license based on the number of items and the specified quantity of fabric. Without that product license, the TENCEL™ brand may not be used. In fact, you may not even mention that you are using TENCEL™. This is all done to prevent counterfeiting, by manufacturers who are not so concerned with sustainability, in order to have the yarns and fabrics made more cheaply.

Based on that product license, we receive a certificate from LENZING™ for the specific items we have made. For the organic cotton, we also receive a (very comprehensive) certificate based on OCS (Organic Content Standard) regarding the use of the organic cotton and the "blend," i.e. the composition with the TENCEL™ yarns. All specified by numbers of kilograms and the number of bales (all numbered) the fabric is in.

The use of the logos

The certificates are all in our possession, including the certificates and audit report available to our manufacturers regarding controls on working conditions (BSCI or Business Social Compliance Initiative). Because of the sensitive information contained in the certificates and reports, such as personal and address information, they are not published by us. Also, the logos are not used by us in the products, but that has more to do with the fact that we find those logos detract from the minimalist design of Undiemeister's packaging and prints as much as possible.
